FAM Youth Angler Quest

The FAM Youth Angler Quest is intended to encourage youth anglers to get out and fish to explore the wide variety of fish resources in Minnesota. We have developed 7 challenges designed to test the drive of an angler to target species out of their comfort zone. To acknowledge their accomplishments, FAM will issue awards to eligible youth who complete one of the challenges listed below. Catch and release is encouraged but not required. This is an opportunity to learn about new species and techniques, but we want to promote an understanding of conservation and ways to maintain healthy fisheries along the way.

Make sure to read the MN DNR Regulations or the respective DNR regulations of the state you are fishing in before you hit the water and remember to Be Safe, Be Respectful and Have fun!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Any youth (resident, 18 years of age and under) All fish must be caught in Minnesota or any state that borders Minnesota (WI, ND, SD, IA.)
  • All submissions must include two separate photos taken at the time of the catch.
    • Photo with angler holding the fish
    • Photo on a commercially produced bump board with the mouth closed and measurement clearly visible.
  • Catch information and photos must be submitted to Future Anglers of Minnesota for authorization via the Youth Angler Quest Submission form found anywhere you see "SUBMIT A FISH"
  • Youth Anglers who successfully complete any challenge will receive a collectable wooden coin, when all 7 challenges are completed a custom wood display plaque will be awarded.
    • Challenge coins will only be awarded one time per angler.
